If you wish to have a brand new wardrobe overnight, head for Hang Gai Street in the Old Quarter.

If you wish to have a brand new wardrobe overnight, head for Hang Gai Street in the Old Quarter. Here, you will find rows and rows of shops selling and providing quality silk services.

Do remember, at this place, the services and items sold could be pricey - but you get what you pay. One such shop that I would like to recommend is Thao Silk along the same stretch.

Initially, I wanted to have a Chinese Cheongsum tailored. However, I saw a set of very well tailored blouse and long skirt at the display and I fell in love immediately. I was able to choose my favourite colour and the tailor, could painstakingly did the embroidery within a day. My mum was really impressed with the embroidery - it was really really detailed, something not found in Singapore!

Do expect to pay at least USD40 for a simple ao-dai at such places. However, trust me, the quality is really different. Do scroll down further to read my tip on getting Ao-dai at a cheaper price and you will know what I mean exactly.
