A floating market at Tam Giang Lagoon in the central Thua Thien-Hue Province features unique and exciting activities of local fishermen.
Located in Ngu My Thanh Village, Quang Loi Commune, Quang Dien District where locals mostly live on fishing, the floating market specialises in selling fish.
From the early morning, hundreds of fishing boats gather to sell their catch.
An old man named Phan Cu has nearly 60 years of fishing experience in Tam Giang Lagoon. He says that the floating market has existed for more than 50 years.
“I used to follow my parents to sell our fish on this market since i was just a kid,” he recalled.
According to local people, some traders will sail here to buy their fish and supply for on-land markets. These traders also take other goods like rice, vegetables or other necessities to sell.
